Help?

As I will likely muse at much greater length in the entries to come - shortly! - I'm not much good at being helped. Okay: I suck at dependency. So it's a big thing for me to start asking, even though it's asking to take people up on offers they're making. But here goes:

Anyone up for doing a shopping trip to Trader Joe's for us, in the next day or two? Obviously, you'd need a car, to offer, and being located fairly close to either me or a TJ would make it easier too. It'd be most convenient for you if you'd be going to the one on Memorial Drive, because that's the one I go to and I'm very familiar with the layout, hence I can write a shopping list that largely goes in the order of the aisles.

I would be happy to go to Trader Joe's for you tomorrow. What would you like?

I am located close to you and to a Trader Joe's! It's the one in Arlington, but I know it well enough to find stuff. Sounds like you might be set for the moment, but consider the offer to bring you groceries a standing one -- I'm at TJs and near your house pretty much every week anyway :)

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. I'm told I shouldn't drive for six weeks; I don't quite understand why yet, but if it turns out to be true, then I expect I will take you up on it.

looks like you're already taken care of, but my days are generally free, and I have a car, and I'm happy to help, and I live nearby :)

I know it is really hard for you to ask - I'm glad you're working through that - and if there is anything I can do, I hope you know I'll be thrilled to help. Looks like you're set for TJ's, but keep us posted.

*hugs*

I volunteer as an alternate, if you run out of the people who commented before me...

It appears my offer is preempted, but put me in the queue.

I am really proud of you for doing this. If you find you need something extra email or call this weekend, I know Aaron and I will need to go soon.

Additionally are you ready for food prepared lovingly by friends' hands to appear in your fridge? I may make some food tonight if testing doesn't drag me into the ground.

One of the enormous blessings we've enjoyed has been the food lovingly prepared by friends' hands. A little has magically appeared in the fridge, and some has come down from the freezer. If you're offering to make more in the fridge, I'm accepting. :)

I'm with you on the "hard to ask for help" thing. I think it's awesome you're working on it. And such good timing, too!

I would love to do energywork on you and S when the timing is right. Keep it in mind?

I will definitely keep energy-work in mind. Sylvana will hopefully be home on Friday, and we'll figure out visitation from there...

Mrf, not this weekend, but you seem to have, eh, a little bit of community over there. Not much, you know. But it'll do.

*grin*

My mother gave me a slow cooker for my bday. Yes, I'm looking at you. Muahaha.

Eek! *flails hands, rolls eyes like B&W silent-movie heroine*

We've had one of your carrot-soup jars, and it was oohhhhh so good. :)

Teach ME not to read LJ for a day. Sounds like you've got it covered this time around, but if it all falls through, I'm going to TJ's tomorrow (Thursday), ironically to pick up some stuff for our Floridian friends (they don't HAVE Trader Joe's in Florida! The horror!) and some stuff for other friends. Adding your list wouldn't be any trouble at all. ;-)

And you can still ask at other times too. You aren't weak for doing so. You're intelligent for knowing how to effectively allocate your time. Heh.

And you're giving us a chance to help, which we want to do cause we luuuurve you. We should be thanking you.

i will watch this space for guidelines on cooking for you, and am also happy to add your groceries to my list at TJs the next time I go there, if your queue runs out!

That's right. I'm not aware of any other restrictions (I'm not going to try to keep foods out of my diet unless she shows difficulties with my breastmilk). And I've been feeling the need for protein lately (not surprising), so protein-heavy foods would be a plus.

I am right now enjoying the pumpkin-bean soup that some angel flitted into our freezer a couple of weeks ago...
