Sylvana has recognized a sign for a couple of months - the Trekker, her front carrier. She started using the sign back at me within the last couple of weeks. This past week, I've been wondering if she was using her first word. As of this morning, I'm pretty sure. I heard her saying "cat cat cat" and looked over to see Ember. (For those following along at home, she's now nine months.)
The kicker? I haven't been saying "cat" myself. I say "kitty." She must've picked it up from Natalie. Which all but demands puns about copycats, of course.
She actually says "ca" or "cak" or "ga" or "gak," but though she has a final-t sound, she doesn't yet say "cat."
It should be weeks yet before full sentences, right? Right?
